TITLE: Frank’s RedHot – Every Food Commercial :30
TYPE OF SKETCH: List Sketch, commercial
HOW I FELT:
I loved the zany situations all the people were in asking about if they could put hot sauce on stuff.
WHAT WORKS FOR ME:
I enjoyed that the first four beats were either a social faux pas or violating some social norm or rule.
The last most heightened beat of the game was a #blackout reveal!
Cheering for an opposing team
everyone around him is in a different colored jersey and they throw the mentioned foods at him
Stealing co-worker's lunch
WITH the co-worker there in the background! lol.
Stealing from a vending machine
In ‘front of’ the janitor polishing the floors
Streaking at a game
Crushed under a boulder (reveal doesn't have food, and a buzzard shadow circles!)
Eating a live octopus looking thing
Astronaut eating, reveal getting eaten by: Alien
STRUCTURE/ EXPOSITION
Pov: you can put hot sauce on anything, crazy things even
Who: various people
What: eating or wanting to eat food
Where: various
Game: it’s while breaking a norm, or in a bad situation.
Premise based improv scene initiation:
Hey let’s put hot sauce on food we obtained in a questionable way.
TONE: the tone is very heavy on the cartoon, zany side of the scale here.
Commercials are not always great at comedy but this one is a good textbook example of a short list sketch.
